Job summary

Albright College, Reading, PA, seeks a part-time Hazardous Waste & Environmental Safety Coordinator to oversee hazardous waste management, regulatory compliance, and safety training across the College. The role serves as the primary resource for safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials in collaboration with Facilities, Chemistry, Biology, Art, and other departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Knowledge of hazardous waste regulations and EH&S principles.
• Experience with hazardous materials, labs, facilities operations, or compliance programs.
• Ability to develop and conduct training programs.
• Strong organizational, communication, and recordkeeping skills.
• Ability to work independently and with diverse campus constituents.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate collection, storage, labeling, and disposal of hazardous waste across the College.
• Ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, and state/local environmental regulations.
• Maintain chemical and hazardous waste inventories and Safety Data Sheets.
• Conduct routine inspections of waste accumulation areas and laboratories.
• Serve as liaison with licensed waste disposal vendors and regulatory agencies.
• Develop and maintain written procedures for waste handling and emergency response.
