Job Description

Environmental Risk Advisor at Hylant, location: Remote, United States. Education: Bachelor Degree. Field: Finance. This position is open to job seekers with the stated qualifications.

Responsibilities
  • Establish and nurture trusted relationships with leaders and key stakeholders at the client or prospect to obtain a firm understanding of their business and needs.
  • Design risk management strategies, identify environmental exposures, create insurance programs to address exposures, lead coverage discussions, and make recommendations to clients, prospects, and/or the Hylant sales/service team.
  • Establish solid working relationships with underwriters, including the ability to describe the risk, request coverage, and negotiate terms and pricing as needed.
  • Provide high-level coverage analysis to Client Executives in support of renewal or new business opportunities; contribute analysis, recommendations and remain involved in shaping solutions pitched to clients.
  • Advance the Hylant brand to clients and prospects and build organizational confidence and sales effectiveness through coverage knowledge, program structure, innovative placement and consultative advice.
  • Contribute to the educational development of internal sales staff through content development and delivery of informational training sessions.
  • Promote our external brand for the Environmental Practice group by developing relevant content, attending conferences or seminars, and presenting at industry events.
  • Participate in marketing and business development; support growth initiatives and product/solution development activities.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as requested.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred, plus 5 years of experience in the environmental insurance industry or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience could include service, underwriting, claims, placement or risk management.
  • Strong knowledge of the environmental insurance marketplace, including operational and transactional placement, carrier risk appetite, and current market conditions.
  • Ability to identify environmental exposures, create insurance programs, lead coverage discussions, and make recommendations to clients, prospects, and/or the Hylant service team.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Analytical thinker with experience using analytics for risk management decision support.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Works well with others; cooperative and open-minded in working with others.
  • Ability and willingness to travel by car or airplane for meetings, conferences, or other business-related functions.
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Internet) with ability to create and edit spreadsheets, presentations and correspondence.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

  • Work is generally performed in a typical office environment with limited exposure to physical risk.
