• The role involves working closely with the firm's highly recognized government relations practice to support agency engagement, regulatory efforts, ongoing client matters, and strategic initiatives on behalf of clients.
• The position has a billable hour expectation of 2,000 hours.
• Candidates should have a strong background in energy and environmental matters, with a particular emphasis on mining and mineral laws and the federal agencies that govern them.
• Substantive involvement is required in one or more of the following areas: compliance counseling, enforcement defense, litigation, permitting and other regulatory authorizations, or agency rulemaking.
• Experience gained in private practice, a trade association, and/or a government agency is highly valued.
• The successful applicant will work on precedent-setting legal matters with a team that values direct client contact, mentoring, and training, offering opportunities for interesting, long-term projects with established clients.
