Job summary

Williams Weese Pepple & Ferguson's Environmental group seeks an associate with experience in environmental regulatory matters in Colorado. The role involves advising clients through state and federal processes, including rule and guidance development, permitting, and compliance program implementation.

Strong preference for Clean Air Act experience or demonstrated interest in air quality matters; 2–4 years of related practice are ideal; JD required and Colorado Bar admission or waiver path.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor degree required.
  • Licensed to practice law and a member in good standing in Colorado or able to waive into the Colorado Bar.
  • Ideal candidate has 2–4 years of experience and strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on environmental regulatory matters across state and federal processes.
  • Assist with rule and guidance development, permitting, and compliance program implementation.
  • Support enforcement actions and administrative litigation; familiarity with Clean Air Act is preferred.

Job description

Our Environmental group seeks an associate with experience in environmental regulatory matters. The position involves assisting companies in all aspects of state and federal regulatory processes, including rule and guidance development, permitting, implementation of compliance programs, self-evaluation of compliance, enforcement, and administrative litigation. Clean Air Act experience or demonstrated interest in air quality matters is strongly preferred.

Qualified candidates will have experience in the following areas:
  • Advising clients on a wide range of environmental regulatory matters.
  • Strong legal research and legal writing skills.
  • Preferred background in environmental science or energy.
Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor
  • Must be licensed to practice law and a member in good standing in the state/jurisdiction in Colorado or willing to comply with the legal process to waive into the Colorado Bar.
  • Successful candidates will have strong analytical skills and a willingness to contribute positively to a collaborative work environment.
  • Ideal candidate would have 2 to 4 years of experience
Position Type:
  • Full-Time/Regular
Salary Range:
  • $170,000 to $215,000 – Depending on experience.
  • At year-end, this position is eligible for an hours-based bonus and may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
  • Full-time employees are eligible for the firm’s benefits as they currently exist, which include, but are not limited to, health, dental, and vision insurance, a 3% annual contribution to 401(k) plan for eligible employees, flexible time off, short- and long-term disability insurance, and life insurance.
  • Bonus-eligible at 1700 hours
  • Paid parental leave
