Environmental Regional Lead - California

Kiewit is currently looking for a Regional Environmental Lead to lead and oversee environmental management practices and permitting compliance for our construction operations. This position ensures compliance with legal and contractual environmental requirements and contributes to Kiewit's corporate social responsibility.

This position can be based near a Kiewit home office in California and requires extensive travel across the state. Candidates who are only looking for remote work or are unwilling to travel will not be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Lead environmental compliance and permitting for construction operations.
  • Identify, assess, and reduce environmental risks to the company.
  • Update environmental plans and perform field inspections and monitoring.
  • Identify wetland and sensitive environmental areas for protection and fencing.
  • Maintain project data tracking requirements and monitor environmental costs.
  • Develop and conduct environmental protection and awareness training.
  • Function as a principal technical advisor and coordinator for environmental issues.
  • Coordinate with relevant crews and interpret environmental specifications and drawings.
  • Prepare project reports and communicate environmental risks to project management.
Qualifications
  • Minimum undergraduate degree in an environmental health or engineering field.
  • 8+ years of experience managing design and construction environmental compliance for large-scale construction projects.
  • Qualified Environmental Professional designation.
  • Working knowledge of environmental legislation.
  • Highly motivated with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to ethics and integrity.
  • Passion for safety and strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Other requirements include regular attendance, ability to work productively and meet deadlines, and effective communication with supervisors and employees.

Base compensation: $110,000/yr - $150,000/yr. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including top-tier medical, dental, and vision plans, life insurance, retirement plans with matching, and generous paid time off.
