Job summary

Elanco, a global leader in animal health, is seeking a Quality Control Technician - Environmental Monitoring at its Elwood, KS site. You will monitor cleanroom air, surfaces, and utilities to ensure sterile production and regulatory compliance, while conducting microbiology-based analyses on materials and products.

Applicants should have a strong background in aseptic technique, sterile gowning, and meticulous documentation.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED with 5 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biological Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely related field.
• Experience in a laboratory or technical environment with a focus on microbiology.
• Strong aseptic technique and sterile gowning with excellent organizational and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine environmental monitoring (air and surface sampling) and utility testing (WFI, USP water, pure steam, and clean compressed air).
• Conduct microbiology-based analysis on raw materials, in-process samples, and final products including endotoxin, bioburden, TOC/Conductivity, and sterility testing.
• Participate in aseptic process simulations and production fills, maintaining gown qualification for sterile environments.
• Lead laboratory stewardship activities including culture media growth promotion, microbial identification, equipment calibration support, and inventory/safety maintenance.
• Assist in OOS/OOT investigations, draft and revise SOPs, and prepare method validation protocols and analytical study reports.
