Job summary

NOVA Engineering and Environmental, LLC is seeking an Environmental Project Engineer to join our Tampa, FL team focused on FDEP Petroleum Restoration Program projects. The role targets early-to-mid career engineers with 3–5 years of environmental consulting experience and direct PRP exposure.

You will work alongside engineers, geologists, and PMs on petroleum-impacted sites from assessment through remediation and regulatory closure, including fieldwork and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Environmental or Civil Engineering required.
• EI or EIT certification required.
• Direct experience with Florida FDEP PRP projects strongly preferred.
• Experience with petroleum-contaminated soil and groundwater assessment and reporting.
• Willingness to travel throughout Florida and work from the Tampa office.

Responsibilities

• Support PRP projects from site assessment through remediation and closure.
• Conduct field activities: drilling, sampling, and pilot testing.
• Collect, evaluate, and document environmental data for FDEP compliance.
• Assist with design, startup, and operation of remediation systems (SVE, SPX, pump-and-treat).
• Prepare technical reports and RAPs; support regulatory deliverables.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, labs, and internal teams; assist with cost estimates.
