Summary

You will serve as a Environmental Protection Specialist. This position is located within the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, Natl Pk Svc, Pacific We, Resource Mgmt & Visitor Services Div, SAINT GEORGE, UTAH, BOULDER CITY, NEVADA or BAKER, NEVADA

At the full performance level (GS-11) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

• Serve as an Environmental Compliance specialist for the National Park Service (NPS).
• Enter projects into the NPS Planning, Environment & Public Comment (PEPC) System.
• Review projects for National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Endangered Species Act (ESP), National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), Commercial (or Special) Use Authorization (CUA or SUP), Concessions, and other compliance requirements.
• Draft compliance documents and reports including Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), Environmental Assessments (EA), Categorical Exclusions, etc.

Specialized Experience Requirement:

To qualify for the GS-09 applicant must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include duties such as assisting with drafting environmental compliance documents or portions thereof, including but not limited to; categorical exclusions, environmental assessments, and environmental impact statements; supporting members of an interdisciplinary team evaluating potential environmental impacts of proposed projects; and shadowing site inspections for compliance with requirements of environmental compliance documents.

Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree

A combination of graduate level education beyond the first year of progressive graduate study and appropriate experience that together meet the qualification requirements for this position.
