EnCon is seeking to hire an Environmental Protection Dispatcher. The Emergency Dispatch Center is a 24 hour, 7-day a week operation responsible for providing a communication link between operations within the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, other public safety agencies and the public. This is a permanent, full-time position for 3rd shift on Weekends = (Friday 11:30pm to Saturday 7:30am) & (Saturday 11:30pm to Sunday 7:30am) then second shift Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday = (3:30pm-11:30pm each day).

At the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP), we are dedicated to conserving, improving and protecting our natural resources and the environment, and increasing the availability of cheaper, cleaner and more reliable energy. Connecticut’s system of state parks and forests, state boat launches, and waterways provide many opportunities for outdoor recreation for residents and visitors alike. These range from camping and fishing to hiking, boating, and picnicking.

The Bureau of Outdoor Recreation is made up of three Divisions (Parks, Environmental Conservation Police, and Boating). The mission of the State Environmental Conservation Police (EnCon) Division is to provide natural resource protection and public safety through education, outreach and enforcement.

The Bureaus of Outdoor Recreation and Natural Resources lead the agency’s outdoor recreation efforts by acquiring and managing lands with an eye toward providing public use that is compatible with the long-term protection of natural resources.
