Stantec’s Environmental Services practice seeks an experienced Environmental Project Manager or Deputy Manager / Environmental Scientist (Electric Transmission and Renewable Energy) to deliver project management, regulatory and permitting services focused on electric transmission, solar, wind, and BESS projects in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Ohio.

The role suits a senior professional applying practical and theoretical environmental knowledge and working independently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related field.
• Minimum seven years of related environmental consulting, permitting, regulatory, or project management experience.
• Experience with complex electric transmission and renewable energy projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 15%.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support environmental projects through environmental assessments, permitting, agency coordination, compliance, and reporting.
• Coordinate with agency personnel, clients, and multidisciplinary internal teams to develop practical solutions.
• Write, review, and integrate multidisciplinary technical reports and permit applications.
• Coach and mentor project teams, providing oversight and direction where applicable.
• Support marketing, client relationships, and business development by identifying client needs.
