Atlas, a leading environmental and infrastructure consulting firm, seeks an Environmental Project Scientist to support due diligence and site assessments across the Northeast. The role emphasizes field investigations, rigorous documentation, and collaboration with project managers to deliver Phase I and Phase II ESAs.

The ideal candidate resides in New Jersey or Pennsylvania and brings strong fieldwork interest, meticulous reporting, and a desire for professional growth while advancing community

Qualifications

• Degree in Geology, Engineering, or Environmental Sciences with 5+ years of ESA experience.
• Familiarity with NJDEP guidelines and ASTM E1527; NJ/PA regs.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License and field-work capability.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines and budgets.
• HAZWOPER certification (40-hour) preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office; Quire knowledge a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform and/or oversee Phase I ESAs, including site visits and report preparation.
• Support Phase II ESAs: field data collection, logging borings, reporting.
• Conduct stormwater sampling under NPDES and limited asbestos sampling.
• Assist with SPCC/DPCC plan development and implementation.
• Provide technical and administrative support to Project/Client Managers.
• Communicate with clients and internal teams; uphold Atlas safety policies.
