The ideal location for this role is Los Angeles or Riverside, though we are open to candidates across Southern California.

Responsibilities
  • Support utility transmission and distribution projects, that involve environmental sighting and routing, licensing, permitting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare and QA/QC deliverables, including:
  • CEQA/NEPA documentation
  • Technical reports
  • Permit applications
  • Agency correspondence
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts across disciplines to ensure high quality analysis, adherence to schedules and budgets, and compliance with CEQA and NEPA and/or other licensing requirements.
  • Interpret and apply relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with utility clients, agencies, and technical teams to ensure efficient project execution and strong client relationships.
  • Coordinate scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables while ensuring high-quality execution.
Qualifications
  • BA/BS in environmental science, urban and regional planning, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in California (environmental consulting highly preferred).
  • Strong technical writing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience providing CEQA/NEPA support.
  • Expertise in environmental permitting and regulatory compliance preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across large, multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Solid schedule and budget management abilities.
  • Ability to travel as projects require.
  • Problem-solver and results oriented.
  • Prior experience with utilities-focused licensing and permitting projects or linear infrastructure projects (e.g., transmission, gas infrastructure, or transportation) is highly preferred.
