A leading provider of testing and inspection services is seeking an Environmental Project Manager for their Phoenix office. The role involves overseeing environmental assessments and permitting across multiple sectors while collaborating with specialists and coordinating with agencies. This role is based in our Environmental Department services division in the Phoenix/Tempe, AZ office.
Opportunity:
Certerra Western Technologies seeks an Environmental Project Manager to oversee environmental assessments, permitting, and NEPA-related project reviews in our Southwest Region.
Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in environmental science or a related field from an accredited program, with 5-10 years of relevant experience. A master’s degree in environmental planning is preferred. Knowledge of regulations for wetlands, threatened and endangered species, stormwater, erosion & sediment control, cultural resources, and architectural history is required, with technical expertise in one or more areas.
Responsibilities:
Manage federal, state, and local permitting processes across sectors such as housing, education, medical, transportation, and infrastructure in AZ, NV, NM, CA, and UT. Understand NEPA requirements and coordinate with agencies including HUD, USDA, HHS, DOT, FCC, and BIA. Collaborate with specialists like archeologists, historians, and biologists for assessments.
Interface with agencies for approvals, permit submissions, and responses. Develop new business, maintain client relationships, prepare bid proposals, and develop project scopes and budgets. Mentor junior staff and work collaboratively with internal experts, clients, legal counsel, and agency representatives.
