Job Description

This position involves managing and leading transmission projects throughout their entire lifecycle, including scope and proposal development, team management, project execution, closeout, quality control, scheduling, and budgeting.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Lead multiple project teams across various assignments.
  2. Manage project quality, timeliness, and financial aspects.
  3. Design transmission lines using PLS-CADD, and analyze/design steel and wood transmission structures.
  4. Handle transmission and distribution line routing, permitting, public involvement, and right-of-way acquisition, with strong technical design expertise.
  5. Supervise and mentor scientists, planners, engineers, designers, and technicians.
  6. Maintain and develop client relationships in partnership with senior staff.
  7. Lead studies and investigations for environmental permits supporting construction projects across industries.
  8. Develop protocols for data collection, analysis, management, and reporting for technical and permit applications.
  9. Communicate technical information clearly to project teams, clients, and resource agencies via reports and presentations.
  10. Provide technical and regulatory guidance to support permit applications, mitigation, and environmental programs.
  11. Review environmental reports and permits for compliance with federal and state regulations.
  12. Assist clients with permit coordination, acquisition, and compliance efforts.
  13. Collect project data through research, surveys, interviews, and field investigations.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, rangeland sciences, wildlife management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years project management experience.
  • 5-10 years of focused experience in electric transmission.
  • Experience in client relationship building and articulating regulatory and market needs.
  • Experience conducting routing studies.
  • Strong organizational and technical writing skills.
  • Effective time management, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional presence with solid decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in team environments and build strong relationships across teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel).
