Nouria Energy Corporation is a multi-generational family-owned wholesale fuel distributor, convenience store operator, and car wash operator in New England. Our wholesale and retail fuel businesses are multi-branded, including Shell, Mobil, Irving, Sunoco, Gulf, Valero, Citgo, Phillips 66, Exxon, and unbranded brands. We supply fuel to over 300 locations across New England and New York and operate more than 150 company locations, ranking among the top convenience store chains and car wash chains in the country.

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Environmental Project Manager. This role oversees emergency environmental response, active environmental remediation, planning, and waste stream management at Nouria’s service station locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental regulations, remediation, and permitting, with experience working with regulatory agencies and insurance claims.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Environmental Compliance & Case Management
   • Oversee external consultants managing active environmental cases at service stations.
   • Coordinate with Nouria compliance to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local environmental regulations related to underground storage tanks (USTs), fuel systems, and hazardous materials.
   • Serve as the primary liaison between Nouria, environmental agencies, consultants, and insurance providers.
2. Budgeting & Environmental Risk Management
   • Establish annual budgets for environmental remediation projects.
   • Manage state UST funds and private insurance claims to recover remediation costs.
   • Monitor and control environmental liabilities to minimize financial and legal risks.
3. Project Oversight & Stakeholder Coordination
   • Plan and manage environmental activities related to maintenance and capital projects, including permitting, soil and groundwater management.
   • Coordinate with internal teams and third-party stakeholders.
   • Ensure remediation projects are completed on time and within budget.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: B.S. in environmental engineering, civil engineering, geology, or related field.
• Experience: 10+ years in retail petroleum site remediation, NPDES, SPCC functions.
• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of UST systems, soil and groundwater remediation, permitting, and regulatory compliance.
• Regulatory Expertise: Knowledge of EPA and state UST regulations, cleanup funds, and insurance programs.
• Project & Budget Management: Ability to oversee multiple projects, budgets, and claims.
• Communication & Leadership: Strong skills in working with teams, consultants, and agencies.
• Work Environment: Based in Worcester, MA with travel to service stations as needed.
