Job Responsibilities
  • Oversee planning, management, and monitoring of environmental aspects for large, complex transmission projects, including handling permit applications, site selection, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Provide expertise in transmission line routing, considering environmental sensitivities and permitting requirements.
  • Manage third-party technical and environmental consultants, reviewing their efforts and deliverables.
  • Ensure timely completion of environmental compliance documentation supporting permit decisions under NEPA and other laws.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental science, planning, ecology, environmental engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance and permitting within the energy sector, preferably with large-scale linear infrastructure projects like electric transmission lines or pipelines.
  • Proven track record supporting industrial-scale energy project permitting, especially electric transmission.
  • Solid understanding of federal and state laws relevant to electric transmission permitting, including NEPA, ESA, NHPA, and local regulations.
  • Willingness to relocate to Houston, TX.
