Job summary

Terracon in North Dakota seeks an Environmental Project Manager to lead due diligence, subsurface investigations, soil vapor assessments and remedial actions for a diverse client base. This mid-level role collaborates with senior staff to grow client relationships and develop younger team members, with opportunities across Bismarck, Fargo, or Minot offices.

You will work with a regional environmental team, coordinating field personnel, contractors, and office staff to deliver projects on time

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental consulting or environmental engineering.
• OSHA 40-hour Hazwoper and current annual refresher.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geology, Engineering or Environmental Science.
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving history.
• A EIT/PE or GIT/PG or other professional certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with proposal preparation and RFP/RFQ responses and liaise with internal due diligence staff, Terracon National Account Managers and/or clients with inquiries for services.
• Collaborate with other service lines for cross-selling opportunities.
• Manage subsurface investigations (Phase II ESAs, Limited Site Investigations, Remedial Investigations) to evaluate soil, groundwater and soil vapor.
• Manage remediation projects that involve soil, groundwater and/or soil vapor response actions.
• Identify, develop, and gather resources to complete projects, including developing project schedules, budget estimation, selecting equipment, project staff, and external contractors.
• Lead IIF safety culture through pre-task planning, preparation and compliance with approved safety plans.
• Take action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
• Coordinate and direct field personnel, office staff, and subcontractors to complete the project.
• Coordinate with accounting for financial management of business intelligence, invoicing and collections.

General Responsibilities

Terracon is looking for curious minds to join us as an Environmental Project Manager. This mid-level position supports the growing needs of our service line in North Dakota. You will be responsible for managing due diligence, subsurface investigations, soil vapor assessments, and remedial actions on behalf of our diverse client base.

This position will also help senior staff develop new client relationships, maintain the existing client base, and support the development of younger staff. Work with a team of professional experts within our regional environmental team and collaborate on dynamic projects with colleagues and clients to ensure work is executed on time and within budget.

We are looking to fill this role in our Bismarck, Fargo, or Minot offices with a flexible working environment.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities

Requirements

Skills Needed

• Ability to independently analyze and interpret analytical data, technical reports, technical guidance documents, and governmental regulations pertaining to environmental contamination.
• Strong technical writing skills including written reports and business correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information verbally and respond to questions from managers and clients.
• Demonstrate strong problem solving and critical thinking skills with a strong work ethic.
• Strong experience with environmental investigation (including field data collection) and remediation related to commercial/industrial, transportation and energy clients.
• Strong communication skills.

Experience
