Job summary

Kemron Environmental Services, Inc. (Employee-Owned Company) in the Poca, WV area seeks an Environmental Project Manager to oversee investigations, remediation, and long-term operation and maintenance projects.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or geology, 3+ years of project management experience, and OSHA HAZWOPER certification; PE/PG preferred, travel to sites required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or a related field is required.
• Minimum of three years of experience managing environmental assessment, remediation, or long-term operation and maintenance projects.
• PE or PG registration preferred.
• Current 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification and required 8-hour annual refresher training.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, site assessments, remediation activities, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, costs, and client invoices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Microsoft Project, Dynamics SL, and SharePoint is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple environmental investigation, remediation, and long-term operation and maintenance projects.
• Supervise project engineers, environmental scientists, geologists, field technicians, site supervisors, and other project personnel.
• Coordinate field investigations, environmental assessments, remediation activities, and site restoration projects.
• Manage subcontractors, laboratories, drilling contractors, and environmental remediation or demolition teams.
• Review technical reports, work plans, proposals, and project documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, costs, and invoices while forecasting remaining project expenses.
• Communicate with clients, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and internal teams regarding project progress and expectations.
• Identify potential project risks and recommend strategies to minimize delays, costs, and safety concerns.
• Coordinate field activities and provide quality control and cost management support at project sites.
• Ensure work complies with applicable environmental regulations, company procedures, and safety requirements.
• Manage project deadlines, resolve subcontractor issues, and maintain accurate project records.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support successful project completion.
