Job summary

Spencer Ogden is partnering with a growing environmental consulting firm to hire a Project Engineer for its Seattle-area team. You’ll work on contaminated-site investigation and remediation on complex DoD and federal projects across the Pacific Northwest.

You’ll support CERCLA/RCRA investigations, remedial design, and long-term restoration programs, with opportunities to travel regionally and collaborate with regulators and multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in environmental consulting or engineering.
• Experience with CERCLA, RCRA, USTs and remediation programs.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Experience managing subcontractors and field activities.
• DoD/ NAVFAC or government project experience desirable.
• HAZWOPER training preferred.
• AutoCAD, GIS or other environmental software a plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate contaminated soil and groundwater data.

Job description

We’re partnering with a growing environmental consulting firm looking to add a Project Engineer to its Seattle-area team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an environmental professional with experience in contaminated-site investigation and remediation who wants to work on complex federal and Department of Defense projects throughout the Pacific Northwest.

The role will support environmental restoration projects at DoD installations, including work across Washington and Alaska, with exposure to CERCLA, RCRA, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, remedial design, and long-term remediation programs.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Support and manage CERCLA/RCRA environmental investigation and remediation projects
• Prepare technical documents including Preliminary Assessments, Site Investigations, Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, work plans, design documents, and completion reports
• Evaluate contaminated soil and groundwater data
• Support the evaluation, selection, design, and implementation of remediation technologies
• Assist with remediation system installation, operation, maintenance, and optimization
• Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors and field activities
• Analyze environmental data and present findings through reports, tables, figures, and technical presentations
• Work directly with clients, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams
• Support federal environmental restoration projects, including work at DoD/NAVFAC facilities
• Participate in occasional field assignments throughout the Pacific Northwest

What We’re Looking For

• Approximately 8+ years of environmental consulting or engineering experience
• Strong background in environmental investigation and remediation
• Experience with CERCLA, RCRA, USTs, contaminated soil, groundwater, or related environmental restoration programs
• Experience with remedial investigations, feasibility studies, remedial actions, or remedial design
• Ability to manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and technical deliverables
• Strong technical writing and communication skills
• Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating field activities
• Federal, DoD, NAVFAC, USACE, or other government environmental project experience is highly desirable
• HAZWOPER training is preferred
• AutoCAD, GIS, or other environmental software experience is a plus

Location & Working Arrangement

This is a hybrid position based in the Seattle area, combining office and remote work. Candidates elsewhere in the Pacific Northwest may also be considered depending on experience.

Periodic travel to project sites may be required, including assignments lasting approximately one to two weeks.
