We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Environmental Engineer Project Manager to lead and oversee various environmental projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in environmental engineering and project management, with a focus on compliance with environmental laws and regulations. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, and a commitment to sustainable practices.
Responsibilities
- Perform site reconnaissance to observe existing conditions, assess site access for subsurface exploration, and identify important site features.
- Provide oversight and documentation of subsurface investigation activities (e.g., test pits, soil borings, monitoring well installation) and perform soil vapor, soil and groundwater monitoring/sampling with applicable ASTM International standards, company standard operating procedures, and other industry standard guidelines. Use various environmental instrumentation and equipment during fieldwork.
- Compile, analyze, manage, and document field, instrumentation, geological, and/or environmental data using field forms and spreadsheets.
- Perform engineering observation and documentation of environmental remediation activities, including UST removals, remedial excavations, construction of remediation systems, and remedial injections. Perform operation/maintenance and monitoring of mechanical remediation systems, including vapor mitigation, soil vapor extraction, air/biosparging, etc.
- Assist with the design of soil vapor, soil, and groundwater remediation systems (i.e., physical/mechanical, in situ chemical and biological applications, thermal treatment, etc.).
- Assist with the preparation of work products, including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, Feasibility Studies and Cleanup Action Plans, Project Manuals (technical specifications and drawings), and Cleanup Action Reports. Assist with the preparation of conceptual based and engineering cost estimates.
- Assist with the preparation of proposals/work orders and associated cost estimates.
- Comply with company Health and Safety (H&S) protocols. Develop Site-Specific H&S Plans and participate in or lead daily site H&S tailgate meetings.
Skills
- B.S. degree in Environmental, Chemical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years of environmental consulting experience, with at least 2 years in project manager role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities and strong organizational skills.
- Strong computer literacy skills, including proficiency in MS Office software.
- Prior experience with CAD software, GIS, and other environmental modeling software is preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
- Pursuing or has acquired Engineer-In-Training or Professional Engineer license.
- Must possess a valid U.S driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Must have a reliable form of transportation to travel to job sites and the office; able to work regionally in Seattle, Washington and the greater Puget Sound area.
- Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours if/as needed.
- Must be able to lift to 30 lbs. unassisted.
- OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER and OSHA 10-hr Construction Site Safety training preferred.
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to pass a background check, if necessary, to meet client, contract, project, or site access requirements.
