Job summary

Talent Edge Recruiting is seeking an Environmental Project Engineer or Project Manager to join our client’s Water Resources team in New York City. The hybrid role leads hydraulic design and water infrastructure projects from concept to delivery, with opportunities to impact communities.

The candidate will work on hydraulic modeling, design deliverables, and coordination with municipalities and regulatory agencies, with potential growth into project management responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Experience with hydraulic modeling and water/wastewater infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with InfoWater, SWMM/PCSWMM, and HEC-RAS.
  • Familiarity with NYSDEC and Army Corps permitting.
  • PE license (Project Manager) or ability to obtain within 12 months if Design Engineer.
  • Local to the NYC/NJ area.

Responsibilities

  • Lead hydraulic design and engineering calculations for water and wastewater infrastructure.
  • Develop hydraulic and hydrologic models using InfoWater, SWMM, PCSWMM, and HEC-RAS.
  • Produce engineering plans, reports, and design deliverables.
  • Coordinate with municipalities, utilities, and regulatory agencies.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and client relationships (Project Manager track).
  • Participate in field investigations and site visits as needed.

Schedule: Hybrid (after training can transition down to 3 days in office/wk)

Our client is seeking an Environmental Project Engineer or Project Manager to join their growing engineering team in New York City. This role offers the opportunity to lead meaningful hydraulic and water resource projects ranging from local infrastructure improvements to multi-year municipal initiatives.

Whether your strength is technical hydraulic design or full project management, you'll have the opportunity to make an immediate impact while working alongside experienced engineering professionals.

What You'll Do
  • Lead hydraulic design and engineering calculations for water and wastewater infrastructure

Compensation (DOE):
  • $90,000-110,000
Project Manager
  • $135,000-160,000
