Environmental Project Coordinator (Engineer or Scientist)
Location: Baton Rouge, LA – Environmental Business. The role focuses on contributing to our Contamination Assessment & Remediation service line through the coordination and implementation of environmental solutions and projects.
Hybrid Work Model
Work primarily in office three days a week with flexibility for remote work.
Responsibilities
- Engineering Solutions Design: Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and support its implementation to validate solutions.
- Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow HSE policies and procedures, identify and mitigate environmental risks, and address patterns of risky behavior.
- Waste Management: Lead or supervise waste projects, ensuring regulatory compliance and effective waste segregation and disposal.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues with equipment and experiments.
- Technical Development Recommendation: Recommend technical improvements for website/portal/software infrastructure.
- Engineering Drawings: Create drawings to support communication, evaluation, and implementation of solutions.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collate and analyze data using prescribed tools and methods.
- Project Management: Work within a project management plan to achieve goals.
- Testing: Design test procedures and standards based on product specifications.
- Research: Conduct research activities to support the role or others.
- Personal Capability Building: Participate in training and professional development; maintain external professional accreditation if relevant.
- Client & Customer Management: Assist senior colleagues in managing client relationships.
- Preparation of Technical Correspondence: Prepare proposals, reports, work plans, and project specifications.
- Project Permitting: Coordinate and implement project permitting.
- Interpretation of Environmental Regulations: Evaluate and interpret regulations.
- Data Compilation and Interpretation: Reduce and interpret data.
- Knowledge of Remediation Methods: Understand methods and operation/maintenance requirements.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related field.
- PE or PG professional designation is an asset.
- 3‑8 years of experience in environmental consulting, including permitting & compliance, remediation & design, site assessments, report writing, data management, and project coordination.
- Experience coordinating multiple tasks while maintaining detail orientation in a consulting environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; capable of working independently or within a team.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Electrical systems and remediation system operation and maintenance knowledge is an asset.
- Willingness to travel for field work.
