Job summary

ECS Mid-Atlantic, LLC is seeking an Environmental Assistant Staff Project Manager in Albany, NY. The role supports environmental consulting projects through fieldwork, data collection, analysis, and project coordination, building foundational skills under supervision.

You will perform assessments (asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, IAQ), gather air and bulk samples, and assist with reports and task tracking. A driver’s license is required if driving for ECS subsidiaries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's and/or Master's of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Natural or Environmental Science, Geology, or other degree relevant to Environmental Consulting.
• 0 years of related experience
• Valid driver's license if driving for ECS subsidiary
• Basic knowledge of environmental principles, permitting processes, regulations and test methods
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Good attention to detail and organizational skills
• Willingness to learn and develop professionally
• Ability to work outdoors and handle field equipment (~40 lbs)

Responsibilities

• Performs asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, and indoor air quality assessments
• Performs air and bulk sampling
• Monitors remediation and abatement activities
• Documents field observations and supports reporting
• Interacts with staff and participates in project meetings
• Interfaces with contractors, clients, and site personnel during field activities
• Communicates daily with project teams and keeps supervisors informed of site conditions
• Assists with scheduling, training, and oversight of environmental technicians
• Supports project setup and implementation under supervision
• Collects, documents, and reports field observations accurately
• Assists with environmental sampling, data collection, and analysis
• Supports preparation of reports, calculations, and project documentation
• Participates in project coordination and tracking of tasks/deliverables
• Assists with proposal preparation and project planning
• Performs additional technical and project support duties as assigned
