Job summary

The Department of Environmental Protection in Augusta is seeking an Environmental Specialist IV. The role supervises the CCR Unit, handling billing, collections and environmental damage claims across all program areas, and represents the Department at hearings as needed.

You will oversee case tracking, contribute to policy development, and guide staff in cost recovery and billing efforts. Experience supervising programs and strong organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Eight (8) year combination of education and/or experience in environmental science or related area.
• Including at least two (2) years of supervisory or program management/administration experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the Department-wide Collections & Cost Recovery Unit (CCR).
• Oversees billing, collections and resolving environmental damage claims across program areas.
• Represents the Department at public hearings and meetings as needed.
• Oversees tracking and proper record-keeping of all cases.
• Assists Division Director in policy development and guidance for unit staff.
