Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation is seeking an Environmental Policy & Advocacy Associate in Sanibel, FL. You will translate science into advocacy on water quality, land use, wildlife conservation and resilience, working with multiple teams to inform campaigns and educate stakeholders.

The role involves meetings with government officials, generation of briefings, and public communications, plus hands-on field work and posts for media.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in environmental science, ecology, public policy or related field.
• Strong research and organization skills; ability to track multiple issues.
• Understanding of Florida legislative processes; willingness to learn.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor bills during Florida’s legislative session affecting water quality and land use.
• Create advocacy campaigns via alerts, articles and social media.
• Attend meetings with officials and agency staff; provide comments.
• Lead educational courses on environmental policy; give presentations.
• Capture weekly aerial water quality photos and assemble panoramas.
• Compile metrics and prepare weekly water quality reports.
• Conduct policy research; contribute to podcasts and communications tools.
• Participate in stakeholder meetings and SCCF events.
