What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)

• Produce visual impact assessments (VIA) under the direction of the Visual Resources Practice Lead
• Coordinate contributions from a technically diverse team and manage multiple projects
• Conduct research, analysis, and technical writing for assessments in support of permit applications
• Travel for project site visits as required, typically no more than 10-20% annually
• Support general planning and permitting for power generation and transmission projects
  
  

What Is Required (Qualifications)

• 3 to 5 years of experience producing or supporting the completion of VIAs
• Strong writing, research, analysis, and reporting skills
• Ability to interpret site layouts, topographic maps, and other relevant documents
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
• Experience in power generation, electrical transmission, or related fields
  
  

How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Experience with VIAs related to the National Environmental Policy Act and state environmental reviews
• Familiarity with federal agencies and their visual effects assessment methods
• Experience with landscape photography and simulation/visualization software
• Knowledge of shadow flicker analyses for wind energy projects
• Training in tools typically used for VIA production, such as Autodesk 3ds Max and Adobe Creative Cloud
