With our historic growth, it is an exciting time to join our team of employee-owners.

This opportunity involves providing environmental support from concept development through project completion. Responsibilities include researching, gathering, analyzing data, preparing project materials, and applying environmental law and policy to ensure compliance on behalf of the client. The role requires collaboration and communication with clients and the community, including creating and delivering presentations and reports. The position may function as an environmental task lead and/or deputy task lead, providing technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced staff.

What You’ll Do:
  1. Analyze and review the design plan to identify deliverables.
  2. Lead planning processes and technical solutions to meet project needs.
  3. Lead tasks related to data compilation and analysis, organizing research, and applying analysis tools for comprehensive review.
  4. Prepare graphics, technical reports, fee proposals, and RFP responses for planning projects.
  5. Create presentation materials, concepts, graphics, and reports for clients and community groups.
  6. Conduct public meetings, hearings, and community workshops, and interface with client groups and stakeholders.
  7. Coordinate with clients, sub-consultants, and in-house personnel to complete tasks.
  8. Assist in directing project teams.
  9. Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced staff.
  10. Assist in preparing scopes of work, fee proposals, and RFP responses.
  11. Develop and maintain client relationships.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture, Planning, Environmental Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Engineering, or related field with 6 years of relevant experience, or
  • Master's Degree in the same fields with 5 years of relevant experience.
What You’ll Bring:
  • Knowledge of the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) environmental review process and Standard Environmental Reference.
  • Experience with regulatory permits and agency coordination.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and client-specific programs, with ability to stay current with updates.
  • Understanding of environmental laws (NEPA, local, state, federal) and ensuring legal compliance.
  • Ability to serve as Task Lead for moderately complex projects and contribute to scope and budget writing.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing environmental review documents, serving as Environmental Task Lead.
What We Prefer:
  • Prior experience working directly with Caltrans and other California regulatory agencies.
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
