Job summary

HDR is seeking an Environmental Planner 2 in Austin, TX. You will assist in preparing and managing local permitting documents and coordinate permitting submittals in alignment with project schedules.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field, plus 5 years of environmental experience and proficiency with MS Office. You will collaborate with design teams and project managers to ensure successful permitting outcomes and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or closely related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of environmental experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilities.
  • Active participant in employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparation and management of local municipal permitting documents and components.
  • Prepare, plan, and manage permitting submittals from start to finish.
  • Manage and coordinate permitting schedule for inclusion in overall project/design schedule.
  • Review technical documentation related to permitting.
  • Support and guide project managers through permitting processes.

In the role of Environmental Planner 2, we’ll count on you to:

  • Assist in preparation and management of local municipal permitting documents and components
  • Prepare, plan, and manage permitting submittals from start to finish
  • Manage and coordinate permitting schedule for inclusion in overall project/design schedule
  • Review technical documentation related to permitting
  • Support and guide project managers, task leads, design leads, etc. through permitting processes

  • Strong organizational skills and innovative ideas
  • Works well with different personalities
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Experience using Bluebeam Revu
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or closely related field
  • A minimum of 5 years environmental experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilities
