Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. seeks a Program Manager Environmental Permitting & Regulatory to lead environmental permitting and regulatory initiatives for Mining and Pelletizing operations in Northern Minnesota and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Located either at Forbes, MN or at the Cleveland headquarters, this role reports to the Environmental Director. Responsibilities include overseeing permit applications, monitoring evolving regulations, and coordinating with site environmental managers to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or environmental discipline.
• Familiarity with design and operation of air emission control and water treatment systems for the industrial sector.
• Demonstrated experience in preparing and submitting environmental permit applications and other environmental compliance requirements/reports/documentation.
• Expertise in analyzing and interpreting the environmental regulations' impact on facilities.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.

Responsibilities

• Oversee environmental permit applications across sites for consistency.
• Develop procedures for reclamation activities and track financial assurance obligations.
• Assist in developing permit strategies for waters of the United States and state regulations.
• Monitor and analyze evolving environmental regulations and advise site managers.
• Advise the Environmental Director and maintain risk registries for regulations and compliance.
• Conduct environmental assessments and evaluate projects against NEPA/MEPA obligations.
• Develop relationships with regulators, trade associations, and local communities.
