Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Project Manager with demonstrated experience in Natural Resources Management to join our New York team, leading environmental permitting efforts for NYS electric transmission or generation projects, including renewable energy projects.

You will supervise and mentor staff, coordinate with regulators, and support business development while delivering projects on time and within budget in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor and/or Master of Science Degree in the natural sciences, natural resource management, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of environmental consulting and project management experience.
• Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience related to natural resource management, environmental planning, and/or related field(s).
• Demonstrated experience with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, licensing, and permitting.
• Experience leading project teams, mentoring and/or supervising staff.

Responsibilities

• Identify project-specific environmental regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with resource agency personnel.
• Write and review technical reports for permit applications.
• Develop environmental permit applications and present at public meetings.
• Facilitate successful environmental permitting of multiple projects.
• Develop proposals and manage budgets and client communications.
