Job summary

The DDS Companies, in Massachusetts, seeks an Environmental Permitting Lead to drive permitting from strategy through approval across infrastructure, utility, renewable energy, and land development projects.

You will translate complex environmental requirements into actionable permitting plans, coordinating with clients, agencies, and internal teams to move projects forward with confidence while maintaining environmental stewardship. Strong leadership and regulatory knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 3+ years of environmental consulting and project management.
• Experience navigating federal, state, and local permitting processes.
• Knowledge of major environmental regulations (CWA, NEPA, ESA, NHPA, etc.).
• Ability to interpret engineering, construction and design plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead permitting strategy, project planning, schedules, budgets, staffing, and deliverables.
• Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, subconsultants, and internal teams.
• Anticipate permitting risks and keep projects moving toward approval.
• Mentor junior staff and promote collaboration and safety.
