Jacobs is seeking an Environmental Permitting Lead to plan, permit, and deliver electric transmission projects, securing environmental approvals and ensuring regulatory compliance across project phases. You will lead permitting strategies, coordinate with agencies, regulators, and stakeholders, and oversee consultants and field activities.

This role emphasizes executive communication, risk management, and strong leadership in a hybrid U.S. work environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience leading strategic environmental permitting on linear infrastructure projects.
• Ability to independently drive project-level permitting strategy and filings.
• Executive-level written and verbal communication with regulators, clients, and stakeholders.
• Strong track record of managing competing priorities, schedules, risk, and negotiations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and project-documentation tools.

Responsibilities

• Establish overall permitting strategy, project schedules, and risk-management approaches for major electric transmission projects.
• Lead complex environmental permitting matters involving multiple jurisdictions, agencies, or programs.
• Advise executive project leadership on routing, design, schedule, cost, and compliance implications.
• Direct agency engagement and negotiations on regulatory, environmental, or stakeholder issues.
• Provide authoritative review of permit applications, analyses, and commitments.
• Anticipate regulatory developments and emerging risks, recommending proactive responses.
• Coach and develop permitting staff and promote knowledge sharing.
• Support proposal preparation, client presentations, and business development initiatives.
• Represent the organization in high-visibility meetings and hearings.
