Job summary

Pima County’s Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department seeks a Permit Regulatory Compliance Coordinator to lead the Industrial Wastewater Control team, ensure compliance with the National Pretreatment Program, and supervise staff. You will coordinate permit preparations and monitor data reporting to prevent environmental violations.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least one year of supervisory experience, with preferred bilingual capabilities in English/Spanish.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in natural resources, civil or sanitary engineering, management, biological science, chemistry, environmental technology, environmental science or environmental engineering, or closely related field.
• One year of experience in preparation of permit applications and supervisory experience.
• Alternative combinations of education and experience are acceptable as determined by the department head.

Responsibilities

• Prepares permit applications and issues permits for new construction or modifications to facilities.
• Meets with regulatory representatives to ensure compliance with permit conditions.
• Monitors permit reporting requirements and environmental data for compliance.
• Drafts response letters and negotiates permit conditions for violations.
• Supervises, trains and evaluates professional and technical employees.
