Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services is seeking an Intern/Co-op – Environmental Permitting & Compliance for Summer 2027, based in Doylestown, PA or Philadelphia, PA. You will support multimedia compliance projects, assist with permit applications, calculations, and regulatory reports, and gain exposure to field inspections and technical writing.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a four-year or advanced degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Science.
• GPA 3.0 or greater.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Travel may be required based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of permits and compliance programs for air, wastewater, stormwater, waste, and other media.
• Support emissions calculations, permit preparation, and regulatory research for air projects.
• Learn and support multi-media environmental audits, gap assessments, and program reviews.
• Help prepare monitoring plans, SPCC, SWPPP, and other contingency plans.
• Assist in preparing technical documents, reports, and permit applications.
• Prepare templates for reports and plans.
• Conduct field support at client sites, including site inspections and sample collection.
• Perform other field and office duties as requested.
