Job summary

The State of Michigan seeks an attorney to join the Environment, Natural Resources, and Agriculture Division. Under supervision of the Division Chief, First Assistant, or Section Head, you will provide legal services to the Departments of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy; Natural Resources; and Agriculture and Rural Development.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited school of law.
• Four years of post-bar admission legal experience.
• Membership in good standing in the Michigan State Bar.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal services to the Departments of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy; Natural Resources; and Agriculture and Rural Development.
• Under supervision, handle assignments with limited complexity and provide day-to-day legal advice to agencies, boards, commissions, officers and employees.
• Represent the state in administrative proceedings and in courts at the state and federal levels.
