Job summary

Charles River is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform daily tasks in the Environmental Monitoring and Contamination Control Department. Responsibilities include aseptic technique, media preparation, and routine lab maintenance within a controlled environment.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in biology or related discipline and 0–1 year of related lab experience, with familiarity in basic microbiology and CGMP considerations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology or related discipline.
• 0 to 1 year of related experience in a biological laboratory.
• Knowledge of basic Microbiology techniques.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing procedures including reagent/media preparation and aseptic technique in a biological safety cabinet.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, stock the lab, and dispose of waste.
• Complete cleanroom gowning certification as necessary.
• Complete training on assays and environmental monitoring as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.
• Oversee maintenance of equipment related to Environmental Monitoring and schedule repairs as required.
• Execute static and dynamic Environmental Monitoring and update the EM Database.
• Prepare sample material and environmental isolates for microbial identification and update the Microbial Identification Database.
• Document activities in notebooks and batch records per CGMP.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
