Location: San Francisco, CA
Job Summary

DTE’s environmental markets team trades in renewable energy, carbon, and renewable fuels markets across the U.S. The Environmental Markets Analyst will be responsible for research, analysis, and interpretation of data from these markets. The analyst will lead the design and maintenance of market models and other tools to support investment, risk analysis, and trade execution.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Conduct research and analysis of renewable energy, fuels, and carbon market data and trends.
  2. Design, build, and maintain financial, trading, and supply-demand models; create forecasts to identify trading opportunities and support investment decisions.
  3. Collaborate with other teams to identify market scenarios and incorporate sensitivity analyses into forecasts.
  4. Work with Operations, Settlements, and Risk teams to maintain and improve portfolio management tools.
  5. Present analysis and market insights to stakeholders through reports, presentations, and PowerPoint.
  6. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • At least two years of professional experience in renewable fuels, renewable energy, and/or carbon markets.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and financial modeling.
Other Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and analytical tools.
  • Proficiency in R, Python, SQL, VBA, or similar languages.
  • Understanding of North American carbon markets, including logistics, regulations, and operations.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive tasks.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
