Job summary

Simtra US LLC, operating as Simtra BioPharma Solutions, located in Bloomington, Indiana, seeks an Environmental Manager to lead regulatory compliance, implement an ISO 14001 aligned EMS, and drive environmental risk management at the site.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Facilities, Operations, and Quality to define environmental objectives, oversee audits and permits, manage air, water and waste programs, and mentor teams to embed sustainability into daily operations under the Associate

Qualifications

• BS degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
• 5-8 years of environmental compliance experience in manufacturing (pharmaceutical/CDMO).
• 8+ years in environmental health and safety in pharmaceutical manufacturing considered in lieu of degree.
• Experience owning environmental programs, permits, and regulatory interactions.
• Strong knowledge of RCRA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act.
• ISO 14001 or similar management systems experience.
• Ability to lead audits and engage with regulators.
• Risk-based decision-making and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Own regulatory compliance leadership for site environmental programs.
• Lead EMS development, implementation, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
• Manage permits (air, water, waste) and regulatory interactions.
• Drive environmental KPIs and reporting (TRI, Tier II).
• Partner with cross-functional teams to embed EMS into operations.
• Lead training and foster a culture of compliance.
