Environmental Laboratory Technician - relocation to Anchorage, AK!

SGS, the world's leading Testing, Inspection, and Certification company, is seeking an Environmental Laboratory Technician for a seasonal position in Anchorage, AK. This role requires candidates to be based in the Seattle, WA area and be willing to temporarily relocate to Anchorage.

Position Details:

  • Full-time, seasonal (40+ hours per week)
  • Hourly pay with overtime eligibility

SGS Alaska Division has been a leading environmental laboratory in Alaska for over 50 years. As a team member, you'll work in a full-service, ISO-accredited lab analyzing environmental pollutants, providing vital services to government and private clients.

Training & Departments:

After onboarding, you'll be trained in departments such as Waters, Metals Digestions, Organic Extractions, and Sample Control, gaining practical laboratory experience and advancing your science education.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform bench chemistry methods including colorimetric, gravimetric, and potentiometric techniques
  • Work with strong acids using HotBlock and AutoBlock techniques
  • Handle solid phase, liquid-liquid, and horn sonication extraction methods
  • Manage samples in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and follow Chain of Custody procedures

  • Bachelor's degree in a science field
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to work overtime as needed
