The position requires 10+ years in environmental laboratory operations or scientific services contracts, and 5+ years leading technical teams with direct reports, plus experience with federal contracts.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology, Engineering or related field.
10+ years supporting environmental laboratory operations or scientific services contracts.
5+ years managing technical teams with multiple direct reports.
Experience managing federal government contracts and customer relationships.
Budgets, forecasts, and program financial performance.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership and management of EPA laboratory and scientific support programs.
Lead multidisciplinary teams of scientists, chemists, technicians, and QA personnel.
Interface between Serco leadership and EPA customers.
Ensure technical quality and regulatory compliance.
Oversee project planning, staffing, scheduling, and risk management.
Develop and manage program budgets and financial performance metrics.
Coordinate laboratory operations supporting environmental sample analysis.
Support recruitment, onboarding, and staff development.
Lead preparation and delivery of technical and financial reports.
Promote safety, quality, and operational excellence.
