Job summary

Pace Labs in Bakersfield, CA seeks a Scientist to perform hands-on environmental analysis in our laboratory. You will contribute to the integrity of data that informs communities and ecosystems.

You’ll use GC, HPLC, ICP and other methods to analyze air, water, and soil samples, document procedures, and maintain instrument calibration while working in a safety-conscious environment. Pace provides training and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or STEM field; equivalent training considered.
• Ability to work effectively in a laboratory environment and use PPE provided by Pace.
• Willingness to participate in training and contribute to environmental science work.

Responsibilities

• Work with instruments such as GC, HPLC, ICP and more.
• Analyze air, water, and soil samples using established chemistry and biochemistry methods.
• Review and interpret the results from the sample analysis.
• Accurately document procedures, observations, and results.
• Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.
