Job summary

A. O. Smith is seeking a Lab Analyst in Wisconsin to prepare and analyze environmental samples following EPA methods and SOPs. The role emphasizes GLP compliance, accurate data handling, and instrument operation including GC, GC/MS, AA, and ICP, with focus on QA/QC and safety.

The candidate will support instrument maintenance, data reporting, and safe lab practices in a team-driven environment, contributing to timely, compliant results.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience preparing and analyzing environmental samples.
• Familiarity with QA/QC, SOPs, and GLP.

Responsibilities

• Perform sample preparation using standard techniques (acidification, digestion, aliquoting, weighing).
• Conduct chemical analyses using approved methods and instrumentation.
• Prepare reagents, standards, and calibration solutions for instrument performance.
• Record, calculate, and report analytical data with documentation of irregularities or deviations.
• Perform routine instrument maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.
• Maintain QA/QC compliance and follow SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Adhere to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) in all tasks.
• Maintain a clean, safe laboratory and organize glassware/workspace.
• Develop proficiency in instrumentation such as GC, GC/MS, Purge & Trap, AA, ICP, and data systems.
