Fair Shake Environmental Legal Services in the United States (OH, PA, WV) seeks a Community Democracy Coordinator to lead relationships with communities, coordinate education initiatives, and support environmental justice across three states. The role emphasizes collaboration with staff attorneys, organizers, and partners, with travel required.

The position involves community engagement, resource development, and data collection to inform advocacy and action.

Formación

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to listen for understanding.
• Translate complex information into accessible communications and content.
• Experience facilitating small and large groups in-person and virtually.
• Creative thinking and proactive problem-solving with comfort with complexity.
• Knowledge of the Ohio River Valley and Appalachia, with appreciation for community cultures.

Responsabilidades

• Build strength-based, reciprocal relationships with diverse individuals and community partners in-person and virtually and lead collaborations.
• Foster collaboration to bring communities together, enabling mutual support and education across towns and states.
• Lead and facilitate 1:1, small, and large-group community education on environmental justice topics and community organizing.
• Collaborate with Fair Shake Staff Attorney and Community Democracy team to translate complex legal language into resources and education.
• Coordinate events, locations, logistics, coalition partners, and education content.
• Analyze and maintain qualitative and quantitative data from community events to describe strengths, needs, and outcomes.
