Job summary

The Southern Environmental Law Center (SELC) is now accepting applications for Associate Attorney positions, including the Glynn D. Key Associate Attorney Fellowship, for start dates in 2027. These are entry-level positions open to recent law school graduates, attorneys completing clerkships, and practicing attorneys.

Qualifications

• Recent J.D. graduate or attorney with up to 3 years of post-law school experience.
• Must be licensed or eligible to practice in the hiring state.
• Strong commitment to SELC’s mission and environmental justice.
• Interest in environmental law, civil rights, and litigation.
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support litigation efforts: research, drafting briefs, and discovery.
• Develop factual records and coordinate with clients and co-counsel.
• Advocate in administrative proceedings and draft comments.
• Contribute to state and federal policy development.
• Deliver high-quality work with independence and reliability.
• Manage deadlines and communicate progress with supervisors.
