You'll collaborate with senior attorneys, evaluate proposed matters, and contribute to campaigns like Beyond Coal and Clean Transportation for All, while upholding the Jemez Principles and commitment to equity and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Law school graduate by Aug/Sep 2027 admitted to or willing to apply for California Bar.
• 0+ years of post-law school legal experience by Aug/Sep 2027.
• Excellent writing and analytical skills.
• Strong interpersonal and consensus building skills.
• Passion for the Sierra Club’s mission.
• Basic knowledge of environmental law.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate proposed environmental litigation.
• Oversee the Sierra Club’s litigation docket at a national level.
• Support chapters pursuing legal tactics.
• Help ensure litigation furthers equity, inclusion, and justice per the Jemez Principles.
• Assist in litigating cases aligned with national priority campaigns in the second year.
