Job summary

Indorama Ventures is seeking a Summer 2025 Environmental Science Intern for our Port Neches site. The program runs May–August and trains students in environmental data management, regulatory tasks, and cross-department collaboration within EH&S.

You will review environmental events, enter data into databases, assist with site waste and water data, attend project meetings, and present findings to the Site Leadership Team, while building professional relationships across teams.

Qualifications

• Full-time college student at the Junior or Senior level by Spring 2025.
• Pursuing a BS in Environmental Science and/or Chemical Engineering.
• GPA 3.0 or higher required.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without future sponsorship.
• Possess or obtain a TWIC Card.
• Proficient with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs.
• Knowledge of basic principles of chemical plant manufacturing and analyses.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to research and analyze information and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to build relationships across organizational lines.
• Willing to commit to the 10-week summer program.

Responsibilities

• Review past and current environmental events to ensure data is collected.
• Work with several databases requiring data entry.
• Collaborate with Environmental and Health & Safety departments on daily tasks.
• Handle data collection for site waste and water systems.
• Attend project team meetings and report status updates.
• Present a report on investigations and work completed during the internship.
• Ensure compliance with corporate procedures and complete required training on time.
• Work on-site regularly and potentially work overtime to meet objectives.
• Collaborate with teammates from diverse backgrounds.
• Assist others in achieving Indorama company goals.

Job Description

Indorama Ventures is currently looking to hire a Summer 2025 Environmental Science Intern. Our summer intern program is tailored to individuals who are currently enrolled full-time students at an accredited four-year college or university. The internships run from May to August - dependent on the school calendar. The goal of the Indorama Intern Program is to provide a structured program that will equip interns with the skills and experience to help prepare for a successful career.

What will be expected from you?

• At the end of the internship, the intern is required to give a project assignments presentation to the Site Leadership Team.
• Review past and current environmental events to ensure all necessary data and information has been collected.
• Work with several databases that require data entry.
• Work with Environmental Department and Health and Safety Department on daily tasks.
• Assigned regulatory tasks associated with the site waste and water systems such as data collection and data entry.
• Attend project team meetings and report project status updates.
• Present a report on the status of investigations and other work that was completed during the internship.
• Ensure compliance with all corporate procedures and guidelines. Make sure that annual required training is completed on-time.
• Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed. If applicable, ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives.
• Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.
• Assists other employees in accomplishments of Indorama company goals. Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
• Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company. Participates in and completes company-required training programs.

What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?

• Must be a full-time college student at the Junior or Senior level by the end of Spring 2025
• Currently enrolled at an accredited university seeking a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science and/or Chemical Engineering
• 3.0 GPA or higher required
• Must be authorized to work in U.S. and not require work authorization sponsorship for this position or in the future.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Card. Please visit https://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic for information on TWIC.
• Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs.
• Knowledge of the basic principles and methods used in chemical plant manufacturing and analyses.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.
• Able to build relationships across all organizational lines.
• Able to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Must be willing to commit to the summer program for the entire 10-week program.
