Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is seeking an Environmental Intern at our Harleyville, South Carolina facility to support compliance, sustainability, and operations. You will gain hands-on experience in environmental management within an industrial setting.

The role involves data collection, inspections, and site audits, with teamwork across environmental, operational, and leadership groups. Interns will work primarily on-site with PPE and safety policies in place.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field.
• Demonstrated interest in environmental compliance, stewardship, and sustainability practices.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new systems and processes.
• Primarily based at an active industrial manufacturing facility.
• Combination of office, laboratory, and outdoor field work.
• Exposure to varying weather conditions and operational environments.
• Must be able to follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Opportunity to work closely with environmental, operational, and leadership teams.
