Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking an Environmental Intern for our Harleyville, South Carolina facility. This hands-on role supports environmental compliance, sustainability projects, and operational excellence within an industrial setting.

You will assist with data collection, reporting, and site audits, collaborating with operations and leadership teams to drive waste reduction and environmental stewardship.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or related field.
• Interest in environmental compliance, stewardship, and sustainability practices.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication and collaborative work style.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems.

Responsibilities

• Support environmental compliance activities, inspections, and recordkeeping.
• Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting related to environmental performance.
• Participate in site audits and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with operations on sustainability and waste reduction initiatives.
