Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Office of the Chief Counsel, is seeking an Attorney-Advisor with a primary focus on environmental law for Field Legal Services-West, Lakewood, CO or Matteson, IL. The role involves providing legal services across FHWA programs in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

The ideal candidate will have excellent legal research and writing skills, ABA-law degree, and active bar membership.

Qualifications

• Requires a professional law degree from an ABA-accredited school.
• Must be a member in good standing of the bar of a State or Territory or the District of Columbia.

Responsabilités

• Render legal services and furnish legal advice on FHWA program areas, emphasizing environmental and infrastructure issues.
• Provide legal services related to planning, environment, real estate, and other program areas.
• Advise on environmental laws as they apply to FHWA programs and projects.
• Support coordination with Department of Justice, other counsel, and State attorneys as appropriate.
• Assist with financing, PPPs, and compliance with federal requirements in highway projects.
