Job summary

Dennis Group is seeking an ambitious Environmental / Industrial Wastewater Engineer to grow with our environmental engineering group. You will work closely with civil, process, mechanical, and architectural professionals to scope, design, lay out, install, and commission industrial wastewater systems for our food and beverage clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental/Chemical/Civil/Process Engineering.
• Fundamental understanding of wastewater treatment and permits.
• Experience in industrial wastewater treatment.
• Strong knowledge of biological treatment processes (activated sludge, anaerobic digestion, DAF, MBR, etc.).
• Experience with environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, and agency interactions.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with proven client interaction and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist project management with scope, budget, and schedule for environmental work.
• Conduct site audits to aid site selection decisions.
• Design and optimize wastewater treatment processes and air emission controls.
• Prepare process flow diagrams and piping & instrumentation diagrams.
• Size equipment and specify utilities for treatment systems.
• Procure equipment and evaluate bids.
• Coordinate construction schedules and travel 20–40% of the year.
